Beirut, Lebanon 2017
The project “Economy of Effort Pays the Price” has faced extraordinary and unexpected conditions at the final moments of the Lebanon show just five days before the opening. The situation was as follows:
"As my colleague Mohamed Tanir told you in a previous email, the approval we received for the show in the public place ends at night May 5, and as I understand, the shipment will not leave China before May 2 and will need approximately four days to arrive and a day to two days for clearance, so we now know that the Tanks will not be part of the festival.” We were stuck in the shipping system, and here I had to go creative and consider alternatives
Especially that the deadline and the advertisements are done and all the propaganda of the Festival contestants cannot be undone, but on the other hand the problem occurred in the context of the project itself and retreat from the presentation is not acceptable. I decided to tell the story that the show in the festival is not the project itself, but the story why the project is not here. I discussed with RIM Khattab, the festival's director, and the festival coordinator, Mohamed Tanir, about the new format of the project, since this interim act is a statement of the reasons for Success the project is to re-produce the tanks with different materials in a country that does not recognize the intellectual property laws and then ship these products to the location of Festival through the usual systems.
What happened is the project was suspended in the system, because the project succeeded in the process of obtaining the designs and went through the stages of manufacturing and was getting to the location, but stuck in the middle
And then comes the temporary presentation in the same location and the same time display and with the same equipment display completely only models are not available, which raises the question of the public and lack of understanding “”where is it and why it is empty”
So they find newspaper from one page in the site of the show that speaks what had happened and the artist distributes copies of them to attend during the entire exhibition period.
