Visa Rejection Note

My Artist Statement

My letter to "UDI"

Romina Dusic Statement

When I applied for a visa to travel to Oslo for the exhibition Pre-opening preparations and the opening, My application for a visa was rejected by The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration "UDI".I felt very discontent and did not understand this decision and I wrote to The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration "UDI" a letter. This was not enough for me,so I issued an statement and launched it on social media,The interaction of artists and cultural actors was large, unpredictable and received considerable support from letters of objection sent to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration "UDI".The Klassekampen newspaper published an article About my problem.

The Croatian artist Romina Dusic issued a statement on my problem It was very important and influential as well, also sent an important and influential emails to Norwegian Ministry of Justice,Norwegian Directorate of Immigration,Norway Ministry of Foreign Affairs and arin And Ersen from the socialist left party (SV) by a large number of artists from different countries.

On the effects of these large movements,I received a phone call from the Norwegian Embassy in Cairo "Come to get the visa immediately"

In this context, I issued this statement after I received the visa:

This morning I received a phone call from the Norwegian Embassy in Cairo Let me know that "UDI" has decided to issue a visa for only 14 day to me, Thanks "UDI" for changing your position to refused my travel to Norway to attend to my exhibition, But I want to point out that I am still unable to attend to my Artists Residence in Kunstkvarteret Lofoten. This is just a temporary solution to the problem. I asked to participate in two cultural events for 70 days but I got a permission to participate in one event for only 14 days.I assure that I will go back to Norway to participate in my Artists Residence in Kunstkvarteret Lofoten and I will continue to invite artists everywhere to press Norway and the European Union to change the visa regime for cultural workers and to invite everyone to press in every possible way for stop this Economist pattern "Weapon manufacturing"Thanks for the great support and help I got from Romina Dusic, Matthias Brandes, Vebjørg Hagene Thoe, Amany Nabil, Bibiana Crespo,Heba Khamis, Grete Marstein, Ioannis Monogyios, Anneli Nilsson, Joan Marie Kelly, Costin Brateanu, Naglaa Seham Younes, Mohamed Ghareeb #kulturkirkenjakob Klassekampen Follow tank Kirkelig Kulturverksted Asma Ramzy Anne-michelle Vrillet Dite Mina and others….
